Award Categories & Nomination Criteria

Academic Excellence

Genius of the Year

Honouring a student who has exhibited extraordinary intellectual abilities and academic achievements throughout the year.

  1. Open to young individuals between the ages of 13-22.

  2. Consistent high performance in academics (e.g., GPA, class rank, standardized test scores)

  3. Demonstrates a love for learning and intellectual curiosity.

  4. Involvement in academic clubs, competitions, or extracurricular educational activities.

  5. Nominees should provide evidence of their exceptional work, such as project portfolios or public recognitions.

Mathematical Genius Award

Honoring outstanding exceptional skill and achievements in mathematics.

  1. Open to young individuals between the ages of 13-22.

  2. Demonstrates advanced proficiency and deep understanding of mathematical concepts.

  3. Exhibits outstanding performance in mathematical subjects, often at a level above their peers.

  4. Achievements in mathematics should be recognized at a high level (e.g., high scores in advanced courses, math Olympiads, or competitions).

  5. High achievements in national or international math competitions.

Literature and Writing

  1. Open to young individuals between the ages of 13-22.

  2. Can be students, independent writers, or participants in writing competitions or literary projects.

  3. Demonstrates outstanding skills in writing, including clarity, style, and originality.

  4. Open to various literary forms, including prose, poetry, essays, scripts, or digital writing.

  5. Exhibits proficiency across various forms of writing, such as fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or drama.

  6. Recognized for high-quality work in literary publications, competitions, or academic settings.

  7. Involvement in significant literary projects, such as writing clubs, workshops, or publications.

Arts & Creativity

Artistic Visionary

Celebrating young artists whose works reflect innovation, originality, and a strong artistic vision.

  1. Open to young individuals between the ages of 13-22.

  2. Can be involved in any artistic mediums (painting, sculpting, etc).

  3. Participation in art shows and range of skills and concept.

  4. Innovation; be able to come up with various ideas and new artistic inventions.

  5. Portfolio: should have a collection of work that portrays his/her skills.

  6. Should be able to give a brief conceptual statement explaining the inspiration and vision behind the work.

  7. Exhibition History: Provide details of any art exhibitions, shows, or galleries where your work has been displayed. Include dates and locations.

  8. Include your grades in art-related subjects (e.g., Fine Arts, Creative Arts) to demonstrate your academic commitment and proficiency

Creative Photography Award

For unique and creative use of photography.

  1. Open to young individuals between the ages of 13-22.

  2. Creativity: students should be able to demonstrate various type of photography skills and techniques.

  3. Portfolio: students must be able to present a collection of photographs that shows his or her skills.

  4. Projects that show innovation.

  5. Having some works that are displayed or published in school environment or magazines.

  6. Include your grades in art-related subjects (e.g., Fine Arts, Creative Arts) to demonstrate your academic commitment and proficiency.

  7. Include your grades in photography-related subjects or courses to highlight your academic achievements

Digital Art and Design Award

For excellence in digital arts, graphic design, and animation.

  1. Open to young individuals between the ages of 13-22.

  2. Should be able to show outstanding skills in digital drawing and painting.

  3. Animation: good/ averagely good at animation techniques and software.

  4. Portfolio; should have a collect of work that should he or her skills.

  5. Academic Performance: Include your grades in digital art-related subjects (e.g., Computer Studies, ICT) to show your academic dedication and skill Present.

  6. Detail the software and tools you use for your digital creations and graphic design. Include any special techniques or innovations.

  7. Provide links of previous works you have designed, whether for school projects or personal use.

  8. Should have an outstanding skill and techniques in graphic design.

Performing Arts

Young Virtuoso

Celebrating children who excel in performing arts, including dance, theater, and music performances.

  1. Open to young individuals between the ages of 13-22.

  2. Must have demonstrated significant achievements or potential in the performing arts, can be involved in dance, theater, music, or other performance-related disciplines.

  3. Exhibits a high level of technical ability and expressive performance in their field.

  4. Recognized for high-quality performances in concerts, recitals, theater productions, or dance shows.

  5. Shows an understanding of and ability to interpret diverse styles, genres, or roles in their performances.

Choreography Award

For excellence in creating dance routines.

  1. Open to young individuals between the ages of 13-22.

  2. Must have demonstrated significant achievements or potential in choreography.

  3. Can be involved in any style or genre of dance, including but not limited to ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, or cultural dance forms.

  4. Recognized for high-quality and impactful choreography in performances, showcases, or competitions.

Music

  1. Open to young individuals between the ages of 13-22.

  2. Must have demonstrated significant achievements or potential in music.

  3. Can be involved in any musical genre or discipline, including instrumental performance, vocal performance, composition, or music production.

  4. Demonstrates outstanding skills and proficiency in their chosen musical discipline.

  5. Exhibits technical ability, expressive performance, and a deep understanding of musical elements.

  6. Recognized for high-quality work in concerts, recordings, competitions, or academic settings.

  7. Creates or performs music that is innovative and showcases a unique artistic voice.

  8. Develops original compositions, arrangements, or interpretations that reflect their individual style.

  9. Continuously explores and experiments with new sounds, techniques, or concepts in music.

Science and Technology

Tech Innovator

Recognizing young minds who have made significant contributions or shown great potential in the fields of technology and innovation.

  1. Open to young individuals between the ages of 13-22.

  2. Your last two results in Math, Further Math, Physics and Chemistry.

  3. Your last two results in Computer Studies.

  4. Do you have an online repository (ex GitHub)? If you do, please share.

  5. Any innovative work within engineering/ physics? Please share with details.

  6. Have you have built a website, web app or mobile app? Please share with details.

  7. Experience in coding, what programming languages can you write? Show us some lines of code that you have written.

  8. If you're in SS3 and you have written JAMB or any other relevant entrance examinations, show results specific to STEM subjects.

  9. Have you attended any STEM competitions (hackathons) in the last few years? If you have, please share details of your involvement and results in the competition.

Leadership and Community Service

Global Citizen Award

For students who have demonstrated an understanding of and engagement with global issues and cultures. For students who have interest in politics or global issues.

  1. Open to young individuals between the ages of 13-22.

  2. Demonstrates a deep understanding of key global issues, such as climate change, human rights, poverty, international conflicts, or public health.

  3. Participates in cultural exchange programs, international events, or multicultural activities.

  4. Actively participates in debates, discussions, or activities related to global issues and policies.

Entertainment and Media

Rising Star

Celebrating children who have shown exceptional talent and promise in the Movie industry.

  1. Open to young individuals between the ages of 13-22.

  2. Involved in acting, directing, screenwriting, producing, or other filmmaking disciplines.

  3. Recognized for high-quality work in films, short films, or other cinematic projects.

  4. Achievements in terms of awards, nominations, or notable roles in films or film festivals.

  5. Nominees should provide evidence of their achievements in the movie industry, such as film clips, project descriptions, awards, or nominations.

Media Sensation

Recognizing young media personalities who captivate audiences with their performances.

  1. Open to young individuals between the ages of 13-22.

  2. Must have demonstrated significant impact and popularity as a media personality.

  3. Can be involved in various media platforms including television, radio, social media, podcasts, or online content creation.

  4. Nominees should provide evidence of their media achievements, such as clips of their work, audience metrics, awards, or nominations.
